And there was a time when the waters were black, and the waves were merciless, and not a single fisherman returned home alive.
But at some point, someone began watching over the fishermen, saving them from misfortune - and so the legends of the great Jiaolong were born.

The Night of the Black Wind

In the Year of the Sandstorms, when the stars vanished and the sea rose in fury, the entire fleet of the village of Tagan was sinking into the depths. The people cried out to the Heavens, but the Heavens remained silent.

Then, the old fisherman Luca leapt from his boat into the abyss, praying to Him - the Keeper of the Depths. And in that very moment - the wind stilled, the waves parted, and the boats floated back to the surface, as if held aloft by giant strands of seaweed. The next morning, a shell was found on the shore, carved with the silhouette of a dragon and the word: ‘Jiaolong.’

The Legend of Pengu the Voyager - and the Birth of the City of Abstract

Long ago, when maps were blank and the horizon was feared, a great seafarer named Pengu set sail in search of new lands. For weeks, his ship wandered lost amid violent storms and endless mist, with no stars to guide and no wind to push forward. His crew, weary and silent, prepared for death.

But on the seventh night, when hope was drowned and the sea swallowed the last of their firelight, something stirred beneath the waves. A great shadow passed under the ship, and the waters stilled. The mist parted, and moonlight broke through the clouds. Pengu awoke to find his vessel gently gliding forward, guided by unseen currents.

They reached land the next morning - a rich and untouched coast, unknown to any chart or tale. There, Pengu built a settlement, and over the years, it grew into a shining city of knowledge, trade, and peace. The people named it Abstract, in honor of the mystery that saved their founder. And to this day, sailors speak of a silver-scaled guardian who leads the worthy through the fog, as he once led Pengu. His name is whispered with reverence: Jiaolong.
